The concept of hydrography comprises three principal functions: hydrographic surveying, chart production and the issuing of nautical charts. Activities must meet general, civilian and defence requirements and the division is responsible for:
1.To plan and conduct
hydrographic surveys.
2.To evaluate and compile all the results obtained from hydrographic surveys
and other data sources.
3.To collect necessary information to produce military geographic documentation
of coastal areas.
4.To draft and print via Lithographic Section all the navigational and
other special purpose charts and documents.
